The Advanced Vehicle Engineering Centre (AVEC) is a specialist group of academics and technical staff together with specialist research and development facilities.
AVEC is one of many centres of specialism at Cranfield. Recognising that a lot of activity, research and development spans across the University, Cranfield has a number of cross-cutting Themes which connect synergistic activities across the campus. In that way, AVEC belongs to the Transport Systems theme and, in doing so, connects with other themes on matters of Energy for automotive (fuels, electricity, hydrogen etc), Management on the vehicular side of supply-chain logistics, and Defence and Security for military vehicle development.
